October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the team at Advanced Dental Center was touched by the patients and family members affected by the disease. The team was determined to find a way to support those affected and fight against cancer, prompting them to create a team and enter the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Over thirty thousand people including the Advanced Dental Center team (Team Smile) participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Dallas on October 17, 2009. The Advanced Dental Center team wanted to celebrate survival and make an impact in the fight against Breast Cancer here in Dallas and around the world. All patients who joined Team Smile and raised $75 or more for the cause were awarded a free Take-Home Whitening kit. Rome (a patient of Advanced Dental Center) with the help of her husband Reginald raised more than $500 for Team Smile. Dr. Christine Hopkins decided to honor Rome’s large contribution by offering her complimentary Zoom!® Whitening (a faster and more effective way to whiten teeth) instead of a Take-Home Whitening kit. The race was a positive and emotional experience for everyone who participated. Join Team Smile next year for the Susan G.
